Manuscript Assessment
For manuscripts looking to be published, I give your manuscript a thorough read-through and provide a written assessment of its strengths and weaknesses and revision suggestions to prepare it for publication.
Substantive Editing
For texts that need significant revision and rewriting, I provide revision suggestions on big-picture aspects of your text. In fiction, for example, this could mean plot, character, pacing, and theme development. In non-fiction, this could mean elaborating or condensing certain sections and how best to organize your material. Substantive editing usually takes several rounds of revisions.
Copy Editing
For texts that need to be checked for grammar and clarity, I provide suggestions at a sentence level. This means revising grammar, spelling, punctuation, repetition, consistency, and word usage.
Proofreading
For completed texts that need one last read-through, I indicate any last-minute errors that need to be fixed. These include typos made during the design and layout of the document, as well as mistakes that were previously missed. This is the last step before sharing your writing with the world.
French Translation
I translate your text from English into French or from French into English, no matter the size of the project. This can include novels and other types of books as well as marketing and communication materials.
